Your historic Sydney Walking Tour brings alive the story of the early convict settlement, while entertaining visitors with stories of “Rascals, Rats, and Restoration”. The tours are conducted by friendly and enthusiastic guides who, by relating the many tales of Australia’s colourful past, capture and hold the visitor’s imagination. Let your guide show you some of Sydney’s earliest buildings, shops, old and new, homes of the “well-to-do” and the quaint cottages of the working class. Still to be seen are the pubs and hotels, once frequented by the locals and sailors alike, and the haunts of larrikins and rogues. The many historic streets, narrow alleyways, cobbled lanes, sandstone steps, and beautiful churches combine to weave a rich tapestry of life in the past and present times.

This 1 1/2 hour round trip cruise departs every 45 minutes from Circular Quay and Darling Harbour. The cruise takes in all the sights of Sydney Harbour including Taronga Zoo, Watsons Bay, The Rocks and Darling Harbour. Your pass includes a cruise to Taronga Zoo from Darling Harbour or Circular Quay, entry to Taronga Zoo, and Sky Safari cable car. Day 6 – Depart Sydney for Ayers Rock
You will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Ayers Rock, Ayers rock is a sandstone rock formation and UNESCO World Heritage site situated 450 kilometres/280 miles south west of Alice Springs. It is 348 metres/1140 feet high but the bulk of the rock is actually underneath the ground. To give an idea of its size, the distance around the circumference is 9.4 kilometres/5.8 miles.

It is a very significant site for the local aboriginals. It belongs to the Anunga who have managed this for tens of thousands of years. The aboriginal name is Uluru which means Island Mountain. The rock changes colour at different times of the day and year. It glows particularly red at dawn and sunset.

Travel around the base of Uluru in the comfort of your coach as your Driver Guide provides commentary about the numerous sacred sites and features to be found at Uluru. Continue to the Kuniya Walk where your Driver Guide will escort you to the beautiful Mutitjulu Waterhole. View Aboriginal rock paintings and learn about the area as your Driver Guide points out some native flora and explains the Aboriginal and European history of Uluru. Later visit the Uluru – Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre, where you can learn about Aboriginal culture and see Aboriginal arts and crafts. In the late afternoon we travel to the Uluru sunset viewing area. Witness the striking colour changes of Uluru at sunset while enjoying nibbles and a complimentary glass of wine.

On the way enjoy panoramic views of the southern side of Kata Tjuta before arriving at the base of Walpa Gorge. Spend some time exploring the gorge and the unusual conglomerate rock formations. The walking trail through Walpa Gorge follows the natural creek between two of the tallest domes of Kata Tjuta.

Later, depart Ayers Rock for the Tropical North Queensland city of Cairns. Upon arrival you will be transferred to your hotel and the remainder of the day is at leisure.
