Itinerary
Day 1 Athens: Arrive at your hotel. Balance of the day at leisure. Hotel: Titania
Day 2 Athens: Half day morning city tour includes highlights of Athens and the Acropolis. Afternoon and balance of day at leisure. Hotel: Titania (B)
Day 3 Athens › Delphi: Depart this morning for Delphi and the picturesque village of Arachova, on the slopes of Mount Parnassus. Arrive in Delphi and visit the Sanctuary of Apollo Pythios, (Treasury of the Athenians, Temple of Apollo, etc.) and the Museum. Afternoon free. Enjoy dinner and stay overnight at Delphi. Day 4 Delphi › Kalambaka: Morning free. Leave Delphi for a scenic ride through Central Greece and the town of Lamia to Kalambaka. Enjoy dinner and stay overnight. Hotel: Amalia Kalambaka (B/D)
Day 5 Kalambaka › Meteora › Athens: Morning visit of Meteora. Amid striking scenery, perched atop soaring stone formations, seemingly suspended in mid-air, are ageless monasteries. As you ponder how these centuries old structures were built, pause to view the priceless, exquisit specimens of Byzantine art that they protect. Return to Athens via Trikala, Lamia and Thermopylae (see Leonidas’ monument) and the spa of Kammena Vourla. Overnight in Athens. Hotel: Titania (B)
Day 6 Athens › Mykonos: This morning you will be transferred to the port of Piraeus and sail to Mykonos. Disembark in Mykonos and transfer to your selected hotel. Hotel: K Hotel (B)
Day 7 & 8 Mykonos: Two full days at leisure to explore and enjoy this cosmopolitan island. Relax at your resort hotel or take local excursions. K Hotel (B)
Day 9 Mykonos › Athens › Cruise: Afternoon transfer to your cruise ship and depart for the next port of call. M/S Louis Olympia (B/D)
Day 10 Kusadasi: Morning arrival in Kusadasi, Turkey, located nearby Ephesus, one of the “Seven Wonders of the Ancient World”. Wander through the famous Turkish bazaar or enjoy an optional tour of Ephesus and the house of the Virgin Mary. This afternoon sail to Patmos, site of the Monastery of St. John the Divine and the Grotto of the Apocalypse. Optional excursions to visit these sites and the island are available. Day 11 Rhodes: A day on the Island of Roses, famed for its Medieval Old Town, great shopping and ancient site of the Colossus of Rhodes. Optional excursions are offered to visit the Temple of Athena on the majestic Acropolis of Lindos, overlooking the Bay of Paul or the Old Town and Philerimos and, from July to September, visit the Valley of Butterflies. Day 12 Crete › Santorini: Morning call at Greece’s largest island, Crete. Here you have an optional visit of Knossos and the Palace of King Minos or enjoy a taste of Crete. Later you sail for the volcanic island of Santorini. Some of the villages are perched on the rim of the volcano and believed by many to be the site of the Lost Continent of Atlantis. View a breathtaking sunset before you sail later this evening. M/S Louis Olympia (B/L/D)
